01

What’s
on the table.

The food comes
into focus.

A generous spread, the texture of a plate, and the small branded details around it. The photographs give the food room to be the reason to look.

The work moves between overhead compositions and closer, lower views. Across Reno, Sacramento, and Phoenix, the approach responds to the dishes and the setting.

At the shoot

Work with the room.
Make time for the food.

For Sacramento, a windowless lounge called for LED lighting. The shoot plan paired the chef’s plating with our staging and food styling, moving from individual dishes to overhead spreads.

The resulting library brings food photography and guest moments into the same project.

02

A place
to spend time.

A welcome.
A pause. A conversation.

The guest-experience work follows the small moments that make a lounge useful: arriving, settling in, catching up on work, sharing a meal, or having a drink.

The Phoenix brief asked for a sense of retreat and the range of guests the lounge served. The photographs show that through people using the space.

People & place

Hospitality
in the frame.

A welcome at the desk. A table between colleagues. A seat with somewhere to put a laptop and a cup of coffee. The spaces become legible through everyday use.

03

A continuing
commission.

Three lounges.
A familiar point of view.

Reno in 2018, Sacramento in 2019, and Phoenix in 2020. The relationship continued across locations, with each shoot building on the work before it.

For Phoenix, the client specifically asked for the feel of the earlier Reno photography. That continuity mattered, while each location still brought different light, food, and spaces to work with.

Project details & archive notes

We photographed food and guest experiences for Escape Lounges / MAG USA in Reno on August 7, 2018, Sacramento on July 10, 2019, and Phoenix on February 27, 2020.

Shoot planning, lighting, staging, and food styling are documented for Sacramento. Chef plating is separate from photography and styling; Reno food was by chef Colin Smith / Roundabout.

The Escape identity, lounge architecture, furnishings, and depicted artwork are by their respective creators. The photographs are presented as part of the studio’s portfolio.
